Description

Sam Dale Lake is a relatively fertile, 194-acre, IDNR-owned impoundment. The lake is largely surrounded by forest and has two boat ramps.

Fishery History

In addition to Sam Dale Lake, the site includes a 3-acre trout pond that receives stocked Rainbow Trout during spring and fall catchable trout seasons.

Site Regulations

There is a 10 horsepower motor limit on Sam Dale Lake. Boats with larger motors must operate at no wake speeds.

Site-Specific Fishing Regulations:

  • All Fish: 2 pole and line fishing only and each pole must not have more than 2 hooks or lures attached while fishing; bow fishing is allowed
  • All live bait greater than 8 inches must be rigged with a quick set rig
  • Channel Catfish: 6 Fish Daily Harvest Limit
  • Large or Smallmouth Bass: 14 inch Minimum Length Limit; 6 Fish Daily Harvest Limit
  • Muskie: 48 inch Minimum Length Limit; 1 Fish Daily Harvest Limit
  • Trout: Fall Closed Season; Spring Closed Season; 5 Fish Daily Harvest Limit (Sam Dale Trout Pond)
