Franklin Creek Mill Pond is located within Franklin Creek State Natural Area and is located between Rochelle and Dixon, just north of Illinois Route 38. On Illinois Route 38 on the west side of the small town of Franklin Grove, turn north on Daysville Road and go 1 block to Old Mill Road. Turn left (west) on Old Mill Road and proceed 1 mile to the State Natural Area.

Franklin Creek Mill Pond is a 3-acre lake with a maximum depth of 6 feet and an average depth of 2 feet.

Site Regulations

Site-Specific Fishing Regulations:

  • Recreational Use Restrictions: Closed to all activities except hunting during the 1st, 2nd, and Special CWD deer firearm seasons
  • All Fish: 2 pole and line fishing only and each pole must not have more than 2 hooks or lures attached while fishing
  • Large or Smallmouth Bass: 15 inch Minimum Length Limit; 1 Fish Daily Harvest Limit
