2023 Events

Youth Fishing Clinics will be offered at Wock Family Lake in June and July (dates below). Participation is limited to 20 youth and all ages are welcome. Fishing poles and bait are provived, though youth are welcome to bring their own fishing poles. Youth can participate in more than one date. Parents/caregivers are encouraged to stay to help their young anglers.

Registration is required. Please call IDNR at 217-285-2221.These clinics are coordinated by IDNR Fisheries and the City of Jerseyville. Thank you to the Misissippi Valley Hunters and Fishermen's Association for providing the funding for these fishing clinics.

Come visit the IDNR at the Illinois State Fair. The Division of Fisheries is on-hand daily, providing fishing clinics and demonstrations throughout the day. We will also have the live fish display, Touch a Fish for kids of all ages, a kid's pond fishing and the fishing clinics. In addition, IDNR Fisheries Biologists are available to answer questions about private pond management and the fish population in your favorite lakes and rivers.

Fishing Pond Clinics take place daily at 10:30am, 12:00pm, 1:30pm, 3:00pm and 4:30pm. Fly Fishing Clinics take place during the weekends of the fair, August 11–13 and 18–20, at 12:00pm, 1:30pm and 4:30pm. There are clinics for both kids and adults at those times, so be sure to mark your calenders to join the fun!
