Good
A total of 28 Largemouth Bass were collected ranging from 2.8 – 14.6", with 24 > Stock size of 7.9". Average length was 10.2". This program will be reevaluated in 2026 to see if it is still needed.
Bluegill
Good
A total of 51 Bluegills were collected ranging from 1.6 – 7.1", with 36 > Stock size of 3.1". Average length was 4.2". Average length was 4.1". This survey met the minimum required number of fish > Stock size (n = 30) to quantify population demographics as set forth in the Lake Management Plan (LMP). This program will be reevaluated in 2026 to see if it is still needed.
Common Carp
Very Good
The Common Carp population remains high in the lake which adds to the turbidity of the water. This in turn can inhibit native plant growth for fish habitat and displace more desirable fish species. Removing them from the lake will reduce the fish biomass on the lake and lower the turbidity within the lake.

Levings Lake is a 26-acre lake owned by the Rockford Park District.Fishery History
A fall community assessment survey took place on 09/12/23 and consisted of one daytime DC-electrofishing run for a total of 10 minutes of sampling effort. Overall, 7 species and 106 individual fish were collected.Site Regulations
Site-Specific Fishing Regulations:
- All Fish: 2 pole and line fishing only and each pole must not have more than 2 hooks or lures attached while fishing
- Channel Catfish: 6 Fish Daily Harvest Limit
- Large or Smallmouth Bass: 14 inch Minimum Length Limit; 1 Fish Daily Harvest Limit
