Largemouth Bass abundance in Buckner Reservoir in 2021 was 92/hr, and quality of these fish improved to within the management plan goal range. Fifty six percent of bass exceeded 12 inches in length and 17% of fish were sampled over the 15-inch minimum length limit. Bass body condition was slightly substandard and did not meet the goal.

Channel Catfish are stocked in Buckner Reservoir every other year to help maintain the population.
Bluegill
Very Good
Bluegill were collected from Buckner Reservoir in 2021 at a rate of 88 per hour of electrofishing, with an increase in quality of these fish. Forty eight percent of Bluegill were larger than 6 inches, and 37% were over 7 inches in length. Bluegill body condition was good.
Redear Sunfish
Very Good
Redear abundance in Buckner Reservoir in spring 2021 was over double the previous year. The redear catch rate was 80 per hour, and these fish were all very good quality fish. 85% of the redear in the sample exceeded 6 inches in length, 25% exceeded 8 inches, and all fish collected displayed very good body condition.

Buckner Reservoir is a relatively fertile, 17-acre, city-owned impoundment that is mostly surrounded by woods. It has a gravel ramp.Site Regulations
