This lake has an excellent bass population. Of the bass collected during the 2016 fall electrofishing sample, 27% were over 15 inches, 21% were over 16 inches, and 17% were over 18 inches. Site Regulation: 6 fish daily limit, 15" minimum length limit.
Crappie spp.
Average
This lake has an average crappie population consisting of both black and white crappie. Of the 11 crappie collected in the 2016 survey, 5 were over nine inches.
Redear Sunfish
Excellent
The Redear Sunfish population is excellent. In the 2016 fisheries survey, Redear Sunfish were collected up to 10 inches in length.
Channel Catfish
Good
Although not collected in the 2016 survey, Channel Catfish are stocked annually and have been collected in previous surveys. Site Regulation: 6 fish daily limit.
Bluegill
Good
The Bluegill population is good. There are plenty of 7 inch Bluegill with a few over eight inches also present.

Electric trolling motors are the only boat motors allowed on Sparta New City Reservoir (North).
Site-Specific Fishing Regulations:
- All Fish: 2 pole and line fishing only and each pole must not have more than 2 hooks or lures attached while fishing
- Channel Catfish: 6 Fish Daily Harvest Limit
- Large or Smallmouth Bass: 15 inch Minimum Length Limit; 6 Fish Daily Harvest Limit
