Black Crappie
Fair
Black Crappie are present in this pond. Five Black Crappie were collected in 2021, ranging from 7.3-9.1”. In 2019, two Black Crappie were collected. These fish measured 7.9” and 8.7”. Anglers are encouraged to harvest Black Crappie.
Bluegill
Good
Bluegill were collected at a catch rate of 156 fish/hour of electrofishing in 2021, and at a rate of 132 fish/hour in 2019. Bluegill in this pond measured up to 6.6” in 2021 and up to 7” in 2019. Bluegill body condition was average in 2019 (Wr=90) an increased in 2021 (Wr=95.5).
Channel Catfish
Good
One Channel Catfish was collected in 2021. It measured 20.2” and weighed 2.56lbs. IDNR will stock Channel Catfish as hatchery production allows.
Largemouth Bass
Good
In 2021, 18 Largemouth Bass were collected, resulting in a catch rate of 72 Largemouth Bass per hour of electrofishing. Fish ranged from 4.3-21.0”. In 2019, 15 Largemouth Bass were collected ranging from 5.9-17.3”. Only one Largemouth Bass exceeded 15” in 2019. During recent fish population surveys the catch rate management goal of ‰¥60 bass/hour of electrofishing has been met. Average relative weights were average in 2021 (Wr=93.4) and low in 2019 (Wr=88).
Redear Sunfish
Good
Redear Sunfish are doing well in this pond. Redear Sunfish were collected at a rate of 44 fish per hour of electrofishing in 2021, compared to 80 fish/hour in 2019. 36.8% of catchable sized fish were 8” or larger in 2019. A lesser percentage of Redear Sunfish exceeded 8” in 2021 (9.1%).
