Striped Bass x White Bass (Wiper)
Fair
Hybrid striped bass are stocked annually by IDNR hatcheries. Fish abundance is good, however they are commonly schooled up, which can make them difficult to find. Those who are able to locate them will find fish exceeding 10 lbs.
Channel Catfish
Excellent
Channel Catfish are stocked annually by IDNR hatcheries, which provides a consistent fishery for both numbers and size of Channel Catfish.
Bluegill
Fair
Bluegill numbers are good, however few fish surpass 8 inches.
Common Carp
Good
Common Carp are abundant with fish exceeding 10 lbs. Bow fishing is allowed.
Crappie spp.
Good
Crappie, both white and black, are moderate in abundance and size.
Largemouth Bass
Excellent
Largemouth Bass are abundant, with a large number of 1-3lb fish, and a few fish exceeding 6 lbs.
Walleye x Sauger (Saugeye)
Excellent
Saugeye (sauger X walleye hybrids) have been stocked annually by IDNR hatcheries since 2010. Both numbers and size of fish are great, providing an excellent fishery.

Description
Paris East Lake is a 163 acre basin connected to Paris West Lake via a lowhead barrier that is not navigable by boat. The primary boat launch is located on Lakeside Terrace Dr. Just south of the boat ramp is East Lake Park, which has a swimming beach, playground, and pavilion.Fishery History
Paris East Lake provides quality fishing for Largemouth Bass, Crappie, Channel Catfish, Saugeye, and Hybrid Striped Bass. Channel Catfish, Saugeye, and Hybrid Striped Bass are annually stocked by IDNR hatcheries.Site Regulations
The City of Paris (217-465-7601) collects a boating access fee. All tournaments must be scheduled through ifishillinios.org. Paris West Lake is no wake. Paris East Lake is no wake from Sunset to 10AM, otherwise the speed limit is 35mph.
Site-Specific Fishing Regulations:
- All Fish: 2 pole and line fishing only and each pole must not have more than 2 hooks or lures attached while fishing; bow fishing is allowed
- Channel Catfish: 6 Fish Daily Harvest Limit
- Large or Smallmouth Bass: 14 inch Minimum Length Limit; 6 Fish Daily Harvest Limit
- Striped, White, or Hybrid Striped Bass: Unlimited Daily Harvest Limit with no more than 3 fish greater than or equal to 17 inches (statewide regulation)
- Walleye, Sauger, or Hybrid Walleye (Saugeye): 14 inch Minimum Length Limit; 6 Fish Daily Harvest Limit (statewide regulation)
