While not abundant, redear sunfish between 8-10 inches have been observed in previous fisheries surveys.
Common Carp

This lake has a very good Common Carp population. Carp over 10 pounds are present.
Largemouth Bass
Fair
The largemouth bass population in this lake is on a downward trend. During the 2025 spring electrofishing sample, largemouth bass were collected at a rate of 24 fish per hour. The ten-year average is 57 fish/hour. Of the 12 bass collected, 42% were over 15 inches, 25% were over 16 inches, and 17% were over 18 inches. Although anglers will typically not catch large numbers of bass in this lake, there are a few bigger bass present. The largest bass collected in the 2025 survey weighed 6.5 pounds. Site Regulations: Largemouth Bass: 15" minimum length limit; 3 fish daily limit.
Crappie spp.
Fair
The crappie population is stunted but a few larger fish are present. Twenty-two percent of the crappie collected in the 2025 spring survey were over 9 inches and 12% were over ten inches. White crappie over 12 inches were collected. Both black and white crappie are present in the lake. Anglers are encouraged to harvest all crappie caught regardless of size to help thin out the population.
Bluegill
Poor
The bluegill population is stunted and poor. Very few Bluegill over 7 inches are observed during fisheries surveys.
Channel Catfish
Average
The Channel Catfish population is average. Eight channel catfish (15-21 inches) were collected in the 2025 spring survey. No Channel Catfish were stocked in 2025.

Description
This 135-acre lake has a very shallow boat launch. No gas motors are allowed on Carbondale City Reservoir. This lake is adjacent to Evergreen Park, which has a playground, restrooms, and a picnic area.
