Description

This pond is only 0.5 acres with a maximum depth of 10 feet. Bank fishing is possible around the entire shoreline. A large shaded handicap accessible pier is available. Fishing is allowed only by children or people who are disabled.

Fishery History

This pond has recently been restocked with Bluegill, Redear Sunfish, Largemouth Bass, and Channel Catfish. Channel Catfish are stocked annually.

Site Regulations

Opossum Pond is opened to fishing for children under 12 years old and disabled individuals of all ages.

Site-Specific Fishing Regulations:

  • Recreational Use Restriction: Waterfowl Refuge or Hunting Area
  • All Fish: 2 pole and line fishing only and each pole must not have more than 2 hooks or lures attached while fishing
  • Channel Catfish: 6 Fish Daily Harvest Limit
  • Large or Smallmouth Bass: 14 inch Minimum Length Limit; 6 Fish Daily Harvest Limit
  • White, Black, or Hybrid Crappie: 15 Fish Daily Harvest Limit with no more than 10 fish greater than or equal to 10 inches and 5 fish less than 10 inches
