Bowen Lake is located in Tazewell County approximately 1 mile north of Washington at the junction of Route 24 and the Washington, Metamora blacktop. The lake is the property of the Washington Park District.

Description

Bowen is a borrow pit of 5 acres in size, maximum depth is 35 feet. The entire shoreline is accessible to shore anglers.

Site Regulations

Boating Regulations: Boating permits can be purchased at the Administration Office located at 105 S. Spruce Street. Only boats 18 feet or smaller allowed. Electric trolling motors only, no gas motors allowed on boats.

Other Site Regulations: No minnows as bait. No swimming, ice fishing or ice skating.

Site-Specific Fishing Regulations:

  • All Fish: 2 pole and line fishing only and each pole must not have more than 2 hooks or lures attached while fishing
  • Channel Catfish: 6 Fish Daily Harvest Limit
  • Large or Smallmouth Bass: Protected Slot Length Limit with no possession of fish greater than or equal to 12 inches and less than 15 inches; 3 Fish Daily Harvest Limit
  • Walleye: 15 inch Minimum Length Limit; 1 Fish Daily Harvest Limit
