Description

Valley Lake is a 12.2-acre manmade lake constructed in 1952. It has a shoreline length of 0.7 miles and a watershed of 82 acres (6.8 to 1). The maximum depth is 9.5 feet and the average depth is 4.75 feet. Access is restricted by the Wildwood Park District, which has management jurisdiction on the lake. Non-motorized boats are allowed on the lake.

Fishery History

Valley Lake has received several stockings of 2-inch Redear Sunfish to attempt to develop a fishery to feed on snails.

Site Regulations

Non-resident parking day pass required ($10) and must be purchased at the Wildwood Park District office. Non-motorized, carry-in boats only.

Site-Specific Fishing Regulations:

  • All Fish: 2 pole and line fishing only and each pole must not have more than 2 hooks or lures attached while fishing
  • Channel Catfish: 6 Fish Daily Harvest Limit
  • Large or Smallmouth Bass: 15 inch Minimum Length Limit; 3 Fish Daily Harvest Limit
