Pyramid State Park - Canada Goose Lake
Location 60 acres
Fishing Outlook
Bluegill
Good
Nighttime electrofishing surveys in April have yielded a desirable proportion of Bluegill over 8" in length. Future electrofishing surveys will be pushed back to May when most Bluegill move shallow to spawn, which should yield a more representative sample of the Bluegill population.
Largemouth Bass
Good
Canada Goose Lake harbors an abundant Largemouth Bass population that is skewed toward smaller individuals in the 10-12" range. However, it appears that a decent proportion of bass break out of the bottleneck and grow to larger sizes. Of the bass collected during the 2024 nighttime electrofishing survey, 20% were at least 14", the largest measuring 16.2" in length. Larger bass over 6 lbs. have been collected during past electrofishing surveys.
Channel Catfish
Average
A low-density Channel Catfish population is present. Only one 18" Channel Catfish was collected during the 2024 electrofishing survey.
Crappie spp.
Average
Crappie do not appear to be abundant in Canada Goose Lake. However, the few fish that have been sampled during surveys are generally over 12" in length.
