Average
In 2024, 40 Bluegill were collected measuring from 3.5 – 7.3”. Bluegill struggle to exceed 7.5” in lakes that have Gizzard Shad present due to competition for food resources.
Crappie spp.
Average
Black and White Crappie are present in White Hall City Lake. Neither species are detected in high numbers during electrofishing surveys. Trap netting was implemented in 2022, to better understand the crappie fishery. In 2024, 4 Black Crappie and 32 White Crappie were collected. Black Crappie measured 7.2 – 11.8”. 75% of the catchable sized Black Crappie exceeded 10”. White Crappie measured 7.2 – 11.2”. 22% of the catchable sized White Crappie exceeded 10”.
Channel Catfish
Good
Channel Catfish have not been collected since the 2017 survey. Historically, the lake received between 750–850 7–9” Channel Catfish on an every-other-year stocking schedule. In the spring of 2025, the Channel Catfish request was increased to 765 8–10” fish on an annual stocking schedule.
Largemouth Bass
Very Good
The Largemouth Bass population at White Hall City Lake consists of a high density of smaller fish. The 2024 spring electrofishing survey resulted in catch rate of 134 Largemouth Bass per hour. Fish ranged from 4.0 – 14.6”. 21% of the catchable sized fish exceeded 12”. Largemouth Bass catch rates have met or exceeded the lake management goals since 2017.

The lake is 34 acres in size, with a maximum depth of 31 feet. The lake has a shoreline length of 2.4 miles with the majority easily accessible by bank anglers.Fishery History
Other species in this lake include Black Bullhead, Bluegill x Green Sunfish Hybrid, Common Carp, Flathead Catfish, Freshwater Drum, Gizzard Shad, Golden Shiner, Green Sunfish, Hybrid Sunfish, Yellow Bass, and Yellow Bullhead.Site Regulations
There is an unrestricted horsepower, no wake regulation on White Hall City Lake. No launch fee or city permit is required.
Site-Specific Fishing Regulations:
- All Fish: 2 pole and line fishing only and each pole must not have more than 2 hooks or lures attached while fishing; bow fishing is allowed
- Channel Catfish: 6 Fish Daily Harvest Limit
- Large or Smallmouth Bass: 6 Fish Daily Harvest Limit (statewide regulation)
