This population is poor. The relative weights are average, but no fish collected exceeded 7” in 2025. In lakes where Gizzard Shad are present Bluegill tend to exhibit slow growth due to competition for food resources. Catch rates have ranged from 130-290 fish/hour of electrofishing in recent samples.

Largemouth Bass

Excellent

The 2025 sample was similar to 2024, with Largemouth Bass being sampled at 54 fish per hour of electrofishing. Fish ranged from 4.2 – 17.5” with 29.2% of the catchable sized fish measuring 15” and longer. 2024 fall electrofishing sampled Largemouth Bass at a rate of 57 fish/hour. 38.9% of the catchable sized fish measured 15” or greater, and 5.5% measured 18” and larger. Average relative weights have been excellent in recent years.

Channel Catfish

Excellent

26 Channel Catfish were collected during the 2025 fall electrofishing survey. Fish ranged from 9.2 – 24.8”. 16% of the catchable sized fish measured 18” or greater. In 2024, 27 Channel Catfish were collected. These fish ranged from 10.6 -24.5”. Historically the Channel Catfish population has been excellent both in quantity and quality. Channel Catfish are collected every year in good numbers and are typically in average body condition.

Crappie spp.

Excellent

The White Crappie is the dominant crappies species in this lake. 2025 electrofishing yielded 48 White Crappie per hour of electrofishing. Fish ranged from 5.7 – 11.6” with 66.7% of the catchable population measuring 10” or greater. One Blacknose Black Crappie was sampled in 2025, and it measured 7.4”. No additional Black Crappie were sampled during the 2025 electrofishing survey. 2025 trap netting yielded a White Crappie catch rate of 27.8 fish per net night. Black Crappie were sampled at 1.8 fish per net night. The largest White Crappie sampled measured 13.7”. 68.3% of the catchable sized White Crappie collected in nets measured 10” or more. Population metrics indicate that this lake has a desirable White Crappie fishery. The largest White Crappie ever collected during an electrofishing survey measured over 15” and weighed 1.8 lbs. The largest Black Crappie sampled from this lake was collected in a trap net and it measured 15.2” and weighed 2.1lbs.
