Description

Palmyra-Modesto Water Commission Lake is the water supply for both communities. This water body was constructed in 1965 and is primarily used for recreational fishing. Palmyra-Modesto Water Commission Lake has a trolling motor only motor size limit. There is a single, gravel ramp on the northwest end of the water body. There are picnic facilities across the road to the west at Terry Park.

Fishery History

Approximately 13 distinct fish species reside in this impoundment. This lake receives periodic stockings of 8- to 10-inch Channel Catfish via IDNR Division of Fisheries.

Site Regulations

Palmyra-Modesto Water Commission Lake has a trolling motor only size limit.

Site-Specific Fishing Regulations:

  • All Fish: 2 pole and line fishing only and each pole must not have more than 2 hooks or lures attached while fishing
  • Channel Catfish: 6 Fish Daily Harvest Limit
  • Large or Smallmouth Bass: 15 inch Minimum Length Limit; 3 Fish Daily Harvest Limit
