Channel Catfish
Excellent
Seventeen channel catfish (5-18 inches) were collected during the 2025 survey. Channel catfish (300 6-inch fish) were stocked in 2025. Channel catfish are stocked annually when available. Site Regulation: There is a daily harvest limit of 6 fish per day.
Crappie spp.
Poor
Only 2 white crappie (7-8 inches) were collected in the 2025 survey. Although present in the lake, no black crappie were collected. There are no size or harvest limits for crappie.
Bluegill
Fair
Bluegill size structure remains constant as most catchable fish are between 6-7 inches. A few Bluegill over 8 inches are present. There are no size or harvest limits for sunfish. Anglers are encouraged to harvest bluegill to increase the growth rate.
Largemouth Bass
Excellent
Bass were collected at a rate of 102 fish/hr in the 2025 survey. Fifty-five percent of the bass collected were over 15 inches in length. Twenty percent of the bass collected were over 18 inches. The largest bass collected was 5.8 pounds. Site Regulation: There is a 15 inch minimum size limit for bass and the daily harvest limit is 6 fish per day.

Description
Norris City Reservoir has a surface area of 28.0 acres, maximum depth of 22.0 feet, with an average depth of 11.0 feet. The reservoir has a storage capacity of 308.0 acre-feet of water and a shoreline distance of 1.5 miles that is primarily rip-rap.
Fishery History
Recent survey data suggests Norris City Reservoir is currently supporting a balanced fishery. Fish most commonly sought after by anglers include Largemouth Bass, Bluegill, Redear Sunfish, Channel Catfish, crappie, and occasionally Flathead Catfish. Channel Catfish are stocked annually when available.
