Hanover Lake is located in Jo Daviess County within the Hanover Bluff State Fish and Wildlife Area. Hanover Bluff State Fish and Wildlife Area is immediately north of the Apple River Bridge on Route 84 and West Blanding Road. Take this road 1.5 miles south of intersection of Blanding and Hanover Hills roads, turn left on Hanover Hill to parking area.

Description

Hanover Lake is a 15.5-acre impoundment with a maximum depth of 23 feet and an average depth of 8.2 feet.

Site Regulations

Site-Specific Fishing Regulations:

  • All Fish: 2 pole and line fishing only and each pole must not have more than 2 hooks or lures attached while fishing
  • Bluegill or Redear Sunfish: 25 Fish Daily Harvest Limit
  • Channel Catfish: 6 Fish Daily Harvest Limit
  • Large or Smallmouth Bass: 14 inch Minimum Length Limit; 1 Fish Daily Harvest Limit
