Additional information for stocking on IDOT Lake
Location: The Illinois Department of Transportation Lake is located on the southeast side of Springfield, off of Dirksen Parkway.
Description: This 17-acre lake is located directly off of I-55, and is part of the IDOT complex. Anglers have good access to bank fishing, as well as a handicap-friendly sidewalk and fishing pier.
History and Status of the Sport Fishery: This lake has a surprisingly good bass fishery for being so shallow. Anglers can have good success catching channel catfish, which are stocked biennially. This lake also receives a spring and fall trout stocking as part of the IDNR catchable trout program.
