BLUEGILL

Developing

A total of 41 Bluegills were collected ranging in size from 1.2 – 4.7", with 32 > stock- size (3.1 in). Average length was 3.1". The Bluegill population has a low population of stock-size fish. A lack of larger-sized fish could be due to the low Largemouth Bass population and the high fishing pressure the ponds get. A 3-year supplemental Bluegill stocking will start in 2024 to rehabilitate the population. Another survey will be conducted in 2026 to access the supplemental Bluegill stocking success.

LARGEMOUTH BASS

Developing

A total of 11 Largemouth Bass were collected ranging in our last survey ranging in size from 2.8 – 17.2", with 8 > Stock size (7.9"). Average length was 11.1". The Largemouth Bass population has a low population of stock-size fish. This could be due to the largemouth bass population not getting a success spawn off in previous years. A 3-year supplemental Largemouth Bass stocking will start in 2024 to rehabilitate the population. Another survey will be conducted in 2026 to assess the supplemental bass stocking success.

REDEAR SUNFISH

Poor

A total of 26 Redear sunfish were collected ranging in size from 2.8 – 5.7", with 13 > stock-size (3.1"). Average length was 3.8". The Redear population has a low population of stock-size fish. A lack of larger-sized fish could be due to the low Largemouth Bass population and the high fishing pressure the pond gets. This population will be reassessed in 2026 after the 3-year Largemouth bass and Bluegill stockings.

History and Status of the Sport Fishery: During our last survey in fall of 2023, five species and 81 individual fish were collected.
